What Your CHBO Listing's Pictures Say about You!
A picture says a thousand words… so imagine what the pictures featured on your listing say about you. Do they show that you're organized, detailed-oriented and professional? Or do they show you're busy, unorganized and lazy? Remember, first impressions are everything, so be sure to follow these steps to make your listing picture perfect!
Good lighting – Make sure you take pictures when the lighting in your place is at its best. Take pictures on a bright and sunny day and turn on all yours lights. This sends a warm and inviting message to any potential renters.
Focus – Your photos should be in-focus – no blurred images ever! A blurred image might tell a potential renter that you really don't take your job as landlord seriously.
More is better – If you have a big property to showcase and/or you want to justify a slightly higher rent, then more is better. Your homeowners may be willing to pay your higher rental fee if they know they're getting a view, hot tub and high-end appliances. Seeing is believing!
Details – Potential renters want to see details. They want to see your stainless steel fridge and your updated bathroom. Make sure those details are illustrated with close-up pictures so potential renters know you take pride in your home!
Photos to include in your listing:
Extras – Don't forget to include pictures of the yard, pool, hot tub, parking amenities and exercise facilities (if any)
How to Prepare Your Photos for Display on Your Property Listing
Once your photo is on your computer hard drive, you can often improve it with photo editing software which may have come with your digital camera or scanner. When you have finished editing your photo, you are ready to save it as a JPEG (.jpg). File types other than JPEG and GIF should not be used.
Here is how to do this (in many programs):
1. Click the File menu and select 'Save As'
2. When the Save As dialog box displays, name your file using the suffix .jpg or .gif. Example: diningroom.jpg
3. Click Save or OK.
4. When editing, please minimize the number of intermediate saves in JPEG format, since each successive save reduces quality.
5. Now you are ready to upload your photos to Corporate Housing By Owner
